Niykee is still writing songs, even though she has been part of the recent chaos. Her selection was made to be part of the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. She is a constant magnet for producers who are just starting out. Many of the beats she hears from producers spark songs. "I'll be able to tell within 5 minutes if this is a quality beat. Once I've an idea in my head I'll begin writing immediately." When I am playing my guitar on my front porch I begin writing, and words flow. Most times, it's done in 30 minutes. Niykee says that as she develops as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her childhood are an inspiration. "Even in the absence of writing about my life directly it is the loss of my sister and the pain of my childhood experiences are integrated into my music," she says. This shapes my music and gives it a deeper meaning, which I find very important. I want to be able to listen to my music in the next 20 years and be proud of the things I've written.
